Managing Partner and Founder
Vernon Roberts is an author, master instructor, coach and speaker. He is responsible for sales, finance, and HR operations for evoke virtual. Vernon founded Evoke Learning in 2003 after working 20 years in the banking and finance industry. His career, prior to evoke, concentrated on such areas as retail sales and operations, finance, learning and development, and client relationship management. Vernon founded evoke virtualto help address the challenges that his clients experience managing and training a dispersed global workforce.
In the face-to face and virtual classrooms, Vernon creates a positive learning environment and provides masterful coaching that allows participants to achieve rapid and permanent growth in their skills as communicators and presenters. Vernon coaches and consults face-to-face and virtually in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Co-author of The Gift of Success and Happiness (Skyhorse Publishing, 2011), Vernon challenges readers to transform their lives by utilizing dynamic business process principles. He has also published in T+D magazine and client newsletters and delivered seminars on work-life balance to audiences in such institutions as the Wake Forest University Schools of Business. Vernon holds a B.A. in Economics/Business Administration from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) and an M.B.A. from Loyola University’s Sellinger School of Business and Management in Baltimore, Maryland.
As a senior training consultant to evoke virtual , Laura collaborates with the consulting practice, program development and instructional design functions within the organization. With over 20 years experience in marketing and sales, she has leveraged her industry experience to help clients meet the demands of communicating in both the face-to-face and virtual environments. She has worked extensively in both the scientific equipment, medical device, and high tech industries in both sales and marketing. Laura also brings extensive experience with both managing and training global teams.
Laura is an accomplished facilitator and course developer proficient at creating and delivering virtual training using telepresence, WebEx, Adobe Connect, Blackboard, and a number of other virtual collaboration platforms. One of Laura’s areas of focus is repurposing face-to-face training for the virtual environment and developing sales enablement and new hire courses. She founded Pierce McKenzie Associates Inc. to help clients build training programs that develop the critical skills and capabilities in their staff to meet their organizational goals.
Laura holds an M.S. from Oregon State University. She has also completed professional development programs at UCLA Anderson School of Management and Stanford Graduate School of Business in Strategic Marketing Management.
Client Services Manager
Kim Moran is evoke’s Client Service Manager and senior virtual program Producer. Kim has experience working on virtual training platforms such as WebEx, Adobe Connect, and HPVR, SameTime and Live Meeting. She has over 17 years experience within the banking and finance industry prior to joining evoke. Her career has spanned from credit underwriting to project management with a concentration around learning and development and client relationship management.
Kim holds a B.A. in Economics/Accounting from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and has studied Six Sigma and has a Green Belt for a DFSS Project.
Business Operations Manager
Michelle is evoke’s business operations and program manager. She graduated from UNC - Charlotte with a Bachelor's in Business Management. Her professional experience includes positions at NationsBank and Bank of America as a Commercial Lender/Project Manager. She has been a key contributor in training program development for clients including Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Michelle also is a significant contributor and leader in volunteer organizations in her community.
Foreign Language Consultant
Peter is a trilingual speaker, interpreter-translator, and educator thanks to 32 years in Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. For a quarter century, Peter has helped people communicate across cultural and language boundaries. He has headed up foreign language programs in the U.S. and abroad and has provided leadership for the broader profession. Peter is a seasoned simultaneous interpreter in a variety of technical fields. One of Peter's main areas of expertise is enabling others to communicate accurate messages that are culturally effective.
Peter holds a B.A. in comparative literature and an M.A. in English.
